Porta d’Oriente: where the light is born

Every morning, the sun rises in the East and lights up Salento before any other place in Italy.

This light has something special about it: it crosses the sea, carrying scents of Greece and the Balkans, settling on artichoke fields, ancient olive trees, and white masserie.

Salento has historically been a gateway: a bridge between West and East, between the Adriatic and Ionian seas, between cultures that meet and blend.

“Porta d’Oriente” tells the story of this very crossroads of light and flavor.

Salento artichokes, grown caressed by the morning sun. Vegetables scented with wild herbs. Friscous, carrying the ancient breath of “u vagnone.”

Six plant-based products. Six ways to capture the light.

Crostelle are as thin as the rising dawn. Raisin and onion taralli blend sweet and savory like the meeting of different cultures. Condifriscous gathers the colors of the Mediterranean garden.

The hand-decorated friscoussiera becomes the symbol of this light: its colors — biscuit, red, yellow, green — are the colors of Salento at sunrise.

This box is not just food.

It is a dawn. It is an encounter. It is a door opening.

Toward the East. Toward the light. Toward flavors that illuminate.
